A ditty about Newt Gingrich and others

Written by my good friend Victor Miller and posted with his kind permission, mostly to be sung to the tune of Frankie and Johnny"

He Was Your Man

Newt and his party were lovers,
Lordy how they could be lovin’.
Swore to be true to each other,
Just as long as they all could govern,
He was your man,
But he’s been doin’ it wrong.

“Aint gonna tell you no stories;
Aint gonna tell you no lies.
Just don’t believe what I said before,
I was tryin’ to conceptualize.
I’m still your man,
But I was sayin’ it wrong.”

(Chorus, to the tune of the Hallelujah Chorus)
Rick Santorum--
He’s not Romney, he’s not Romney.

Paul Ryan came to the Congress,
Found that the cupboard was bare.
Said to the gang “Big spenders,
We can get it from Medicare.”
He was your man,
But he’s been sayin’ it wrong.

Ryan peeked over the transom,
To see there what he could see.
Saw Newt and his friends makin’ small talk
With the staff of the AARP
He’s nobody’ man,
And he sings his own song.

Donald Trump he started runnin’,
And Cain/Paul thought they’d give a run.
Romney spent time explainin’
What he did was not what was done.
“I did health care,
But now they’re doin’ it wrong.”

Huntsman, he came back from China.
And Barbour came up from the South.
Bachman and Palin they started too,
Oh, I’m not too sure, are you?
They’re not our MAN,
And they were takin’ too long.

(Chorus, to the tune of the Hallelujah Chorus)
Rick Santorum--
He’s not Romney, he’s not Romney.

Well, this story has no moral.
But this story, at least, has an end.
We’ve got another year of this,
Time to hunker down, my friend.
We call it democracy,
But maybe WE got it wrong.
